My telephone no longer works (the menu froze) what can I do ?

First, remove the power adaptor, the telephone line, then the battery. Wait for around 1 minute, then insert the batteries and connect the two wires.

The guarantee only covers the phone within the country you bought it in.

Box ADSL

Are Alcatel phones compatible with the box ADSL with a telephone input ?

All our products are compatible with ADSL. This compatibility is indicated on our packaging, « Compatible ADSL Box ».

I am experiencing audio quality problems with the box ADSL. What do I do ?

If your phone is directly connected to the telephone wall socket, check that the ADSL’s filter is correctly installed.

I don’t have a dialing tone. What could be the reason ?

It could come from a network failure. Verify that your box ADSL is operating properly..

How do I connect my Alcatel telephone to a box ADSL ?

If you are not in a “group”, continue to use the normal telephone service (analogue) offered by your operator. Apply the plug A and use essentially an ADSL filter.
If you are in a group, you may use the IP voice service of your ADSL provider. To do so, plug in mode B. Then you need to connect your phone to your gateway by using a RJ11/RJ11 wire or an RJ11 adaptation wire. If you prefer to use the analogue service of your operator, plug in mode A.

Battery

When I put my handset back on the base, it doesn’t charge. How can I overcome this problem ?

Remove and replace the batteries then check if the power adaptor is well plugged in. If the problem persists, we advise you to change battery (batteries usually have a life-spam of about 12 to 18 months when used normally).

If there is a power cut, will my phone lose all the existing data ?

No, your telephone with keep all the existing data, except the date and time shown on the screen.

Display

No sign on the display? What can I do ?

Check that your batteries are well inserted and that they are properly charged (refer to the user manual).
The Caller ID (CLI) feature doesn’t appear on my display. What can I do ? Contact your operator for help (the caller Id feature is activated only if you’ve subscribed to this service).

Phonebook

How to add contacts on the phonebook ?

Press the key “MENU”, select “Phonebook” then “add contact”. Press “OK” to confirm. Type in the name and the telephone number and then press “OK” to confirm (refer to the user manual).

Does the Phonebook of my additional handset has the same phonebook as the main one ?

No, each handset can be customized.

Answering machine

How can we change the number of ring tones before the answering machines activates ?

The answering machine is programmed to activate after three ring tones. Press the key “Menu”, select “answerer ” then “Ring to answer”. Choose the number of rings you prefer. Note: it is important that the voice mail feature set by your operator be disabled first or the number of ring tones programmed must be superior to the rings installed on your phone.

I have a problem in recording my customized message?
What could be the reasons ?

During the message recording, it is recommended to speak out loud. Do not leave a long gap before starting your recording.

How can I have a remote access to my messages ?

Dial your phone number. During or after the message, press “*”. Dial your 3 or 4 digit secret code depending on your model (123 or 000 or 0000 by default) and follow the instructions given by the audio guide. For models not equipped with the audio guide feature, refer to the user manual.

Ringtones

How do I control the volume of my ringtone ?

Press the key “Menu”, select “volume”. The screen will indicate the actual volume. Press on either + or – if you want to control the volume.

Language menu

How do you change the language in the menu ?

Press the key “Menu”, select “Setting” then “language”. Press on “OK” then select the language you want with the keys + or -. Finally, press on “OK” to confirm and save the selected language. For more information, refer to the user manual.

Additional handset

How do I associate an extra handset to the base unit ?

Step 1 : From the base unit, activate the mode “association” by pressing for a while (roughly 2 seconds) on the “paging”key.

Step 2 :From your extra handset, go to the menu«  association ”. Select the base unit and enter your PIN code. A led or a Bip (depending on your model) will confirm the association.

Is it possible to connect any extra hand-set from a different brand ?

Your extra hand-set should be GAP compliant. Otherwise, you take the risk to lose some of the already existing features.

Signal range

What is the actual signal range of my DECT cordless handset?

Cordless DECT telephones allow you to call up to 300 meters outdoor and up to 50 meters indoor. Nevertheless, the range depends mainly on your surrounding. Note that the thickness of the walls and the presence of other electrical devices can affect the signals too.

Led on the base

The green Led flashes even when I am not on the phone, what Should I do ?

You may have received calls during you absence. Check your received call log and see whether there are audio messages on your voice mail set by your operator.

The Call forward feature doesn’t work behind my PABX . What can be the reason ?

Verify with your installer which flash time has been programmed in the PBX. Then, refer to the user manual to set up the flash time.
